Will you be my neighbor?
his last weekend was a blast. Literally. The old charlotte convention center was imploded on Sunday. We had made plans to meet at Sarah’s at 6:30 am so we could walk over to the implosion site and sneak in somewhere. ON the way up Annie got hit on the interstate by an elderly guy driving the wrong way so we never made it to the implosion but I’m just glad she’s okay because the guy hit 2 other cars and things could have turned out a lot worse. Even though we didn’t get to see the implosion being up that early in the morning meant that I got to go out for breakfast so me, Annie, Sarah, and her brother and his friend went to this dinner on South Blvd where we ran into a crazy older ND grad. I really believe that half the state of Indiana now resides in Charlotte. It’s crazy how many Purdue, IU, and ND people you run into down here. One of Amanda’s friends that went out with us to the comedy zone and time on friday night was from IU and my soon to be roommate, Joanna, is from IU as well. I won’t even get into how many purdue grads are out here but if you check the photo’s from Craigs party it shouldn’t be hard to see. Saturday I finally got to take Amanda to Carowinds. When we met it was one of the first things we talked about and it seemed like something just kept coming up every weekend. The lines there were super long so we didn’t get to ride many rides but I still had fun.
Best Worst Day Ever!
So I had what most people would consider to be a bad day and it wasn’t that bad. Wednesday morning I woke up like any other day and went to work. It had been raining and I didn’t have an umbrella or a jacket so I got soaked as I walked into work that morning. Also when I got to work I realized I had left my cell phone at home which turned out to be the worst day to do so. Work itself was an ordinary day but I had some work that needed to be finished so I grabed some dinner with Erik at 5 and was back by 5:40 to finish up. Around 7 I left the office because we were suppose to meet at the comedy zone at 7:15. When I got to my car I realized that I had left my headlights on so my car wouldn’t start and since I didn’t have a cell phone to call for a jump or a ride I walked over to the comedy zone in the rain. The show was pretty good and afterwards I had Annie take me back to Sarah’s where she brought her car over to give me a jump. We tried jumping the car but it still wouldn’t start so I assumed the battery was dead and went with eric to the ghetto walmart to get a new battery. We got back to the car and put the new battery in but the car still wouldn’t start. Eric then checked and noticed that the main fuse had been blown but since it was already past midnight at this point (and raining still) we decieded to wait till tomorrow. I had called Jeff and explained to him what happened and he agreed to give me a lift into work in the morning.
