Hi My Name is Andrew!
by andrew corn
I’m feeling like Earl these days. As you can see on my homepage I have made a list of things that I need to get done and slowely but surely I am crossing them off. Just sent in my taxes and am getting a fair amount back. The plan is to put that into a savings account for china. Speaking off, I think I’ll work on my application now

Snowshoe 2007
by andrew corn
got back yesterday from a fun filled weekend at snowshoe. We got up there Friday night and was able to sneak in a few night runs. Went again Saturday during the day, sunday day and night, and then a few quick runs again on Monday. My legs are killing me now especially after playing volleyball tonight. Can’t believe it’s Fat Tuesday and I’m staying in. Ohhh well if all goes right I’ll be back on campus this weekend to party it up. Then again Purdue might not have a room for me to hold interviews in and if that’s the case I’ll have to do them over the phone. YUCK!

Promotion
by andrew corn
I just found out I finally got my band 5 promotion. Of course i won’t get any financial compensation for this until April but the promotion goes into effect tomorrow. I will however get an extra week of vacation out of it giving me 4 weeks vacation and 2 weeks sick/personal time off. Also my functional role has changed to a Service Delivery Consultant and my title is now Assistant Vice-President. Of course the AVP title sounds a lot more impressive then it actually is. While I’m happy I have this promotion it was long over due considering my old manager who was a Senior Vice-Preside band 3 left last januarary and I have been doing his role since. The biggest advantage for me now is that if I get accepted for the program in china and want to come back to the bank afterwards i’ll be interviewing for much higher paying jobs then I would if I was still a band 6. Then again if I do get in the china program when I come back I’ll be broke so any paying job will probably look good.
