ACCEPTED!

by andrew corn

I got the acceptance letter on Saturday.  Of course I would have known it was official had I checked my voicemail since a message was left there on Wed.  Ohh well.  I’ll leave in early august so my last day at BofA will probably be end of July!

So Excited!

Okay I’m pretty sure the decision on if I got into the China 2007 program has been made and i’ve been accepted but I haven’t received anything back from worldteach.  The have an online master checklist where you can track the status of your application and under status it says “ACCEPTED”.  I was told early May is when I’d hear back so maybe this just means they are putting everything together?  not sure exactly but for now I’ll celebrate.  I’ve got a lot of things to tie up over the next few months but I plan on making the end of July my last work day and then spending a few days back home before flying out.

With a group as big as ours it seems that it’s always someone’s birthday or someone is always leaving.  This weekend was no exception as we celebrated Jon and Yarissa’s birthday and Brian’s farewell.  I wasn’t suppose to be in town this weekend but with the surgery on Friday I didn’t think it was too wise to travel.  Had I known that the post surgery was going to be this smooth I probably would have but I still had a good weekened.  I only took the pain killers on Friday cause I wasn’t in much pain and they made me sleepy.  I was able to eat solid foods a few hours after surgery (although very slowly) and even went out for a few drinks that night.  Saturday I played basketball at Freedom park and took an elbow to the jaw but no blood was drawn and there was minimal pain.  Afterwards I took full advantage of the open bar at Tilt and then made my way over to forum.  A little fuzzy on the full events of the night but from the pictures it looks like it was a good night out.
